"Daddy! Papa!" Alfred woke up when he heard his daughters call for him and Kiku. Soon, the twins burst in through the door, running over and getting on the bed. Kiku groaned and sat up.

"Cecilia, Hitomi, what's wrong?" he asked as he looked at the two girl's tear-stained faces. Just then, a louder thunder sounded and the two girls squealed. Cecilia latched herself onto Kiku and Alfred sat up and pulled Hitomi in his lap. Thunder sounded yet again, making the two girls cry harder. Kiku looked over at Alfred.

"Calm down girls. It's just a thunderstorm," Alfred said as he rubbed Hitomi's back. Cecilia looked over at him.

"But it's loud and scary."

"I know. But don't worry, Kiku and I will protect you. Right Kiku?" Alfred asked as he looked over. Kiku nodded.

"Right. There's nothing to fear."

"D-Daddy, please tell us a story," Cecilia asked as she looked at him. Alfred just laughed.

"Alright."

He told them of the time their Uncle Arthur got his foot stuck in a pail and Francis had to help him get it off, but he kept kicking him. Soon the two girls were asleep in their arms, despite the raging storm outside. Kiku and Alfred laid down, still cradiling their daughters. Alfred grabbed Kiku's hand and squeezed it.

"At least they are sleeping peacefully now."

"Yes," Kiku said as he looked at Alfred. Alfred leaned over and gave him a soft kiss.

"I love you Kiku."

"Ah... Aishiteru Alfred," Kiku said. Alfred scooted closer to him. They soon fell asleep, still holding their daughters that they loved so much.
